Illumination courses
Method followed :
At the end of each session (a 2 day course) each student leaves with the illumination he or she has made (normally a letter).
Traditional methods are used :

Prepare parchemin

Trace or draw picture on the parchemin

Go over the parchemin with pen and ink

Put gold leaf (24 carat gold) on gesso

Prepare colours (pigments) to be painted on. A binder (arabic gum) is used

Reoutline

Embellish
Following this method, it has been found that the results are pleasing.
